Utah Family Photographer | N Family

I still can't quite believe I had the honor of photographing this beautiful family.  They were visiting all the way from Kentucky and wanted to fit in a family photoshoot in the gorgeous mountains of Park City, Utah.  Part of this job that I enjoy the most is being able to meet and friend new people from all over the world.

Here are a few of my favorites from their sun drenched, gorgeous session...

Utah Family Photographer | October 11-on-11 project

(This is the tenth post of an 11-on-11 project I am participating in this year with a group of insanely talented photographers from around the world. 11 pictures, on the 11th of each month. The only “rule” is one of the images has to be a self portrait.  To see last months post click HERE

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night with an image or idea so vivid in your mind that you have to write it down before you can even go back to sleep? Well, for me, this session came from one of those nights.

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball (or two or three) and you have to redefine and relearn who you are.  Recently I came to a point in my life where I felt I really needed to express some emotion. I'm not great at expressing my feelings verbally and at the time, the only way I felt comfortable doing it was through photography.  So, with this dreamt vision in my mind, I waited for a windy day, grabbed my camera, a step ladder and my remote trigger and right before sunset went out to a field behind my house.

I have to say that this has been such a soothing and therapeutic experience for me.  To me these images represent various emotions I've been feeling over the past few months.... despair, rejection, loneliness, reflection, strength, perseverance and hope.

"When something bad happens you have three choices.
You can either let it define you,
let it destroy you
or you can let it STRENGTHEN you."

Thanks so much for looking.  xoxo
